Hi, I am a high school senior living in porter, tx. I am graduating as the number one ranked senior in my hs (couldn't be val. due to residential restrictions), but nonetheless, I was asked if I would give a speech at graduation. For two days, I vigorously debated if I should or shouldn't. I have been stuttering ever since I could remember, and even though i have been working at it and it has gotten a little better, it is still prevalent. So, I finally decided I would give the speech. It turns out that I also have to introduce the administrators before I give my speech, so I will be talking for about 7 minutes on stage (speech is about 4 minutes long). I AM REALLY SCARED, THERE WILL BE OVER 5,000 PEOPLE AT GRADUATION, AND I AM REALLY NERVOUS. I KEEP TELLING MY SELF IT WILL BE ALRIGHT, BUT THERE'S NO ONE I CAN TALK TO, NO ONE KNOWS HOW I FEEL. PLEASE ANY ADVICE OR HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANK YOU
